So beside doing album REVEALS
I'll be writing short blogs about certain new performances and artists now and then depending on my interest to them.
So treat them as an ARTISTS REVEAL
Today I'm gonna be writing on Block B, a seven0member hip hop group."
What caught me eye with this group wasn't the "
Cho PD has recently revealed that he will be spending over $1.4 million USD to create and nurture a new seven-member hip hop group through his “Creating Korea’s Eminem Project." on allkpop

------
Sidenote:
Cho PD is a hip-hop producer and rapper. And from wiki, it seemed like he retired from rapping last year.
I don't really know my k-producers so maybe it is time to get to know them better.
Only producer I usually hear of is Teddy.

But rather the article about how the boys were trained to write 100 songs prior to their debut.
Right from the get-go I get the feeling of
"too many cooks in the kitchen" cause the article never really states if ALL seven were trained to write or just one or two. If it is the latter i give them props for writing so many songs.
So they came out with the debut song and mv Freeze.
Check it out here.

I really do not get why boy groups have to debut with a car in their first mv. It is so strange.
I mean it works as a prop but its getting overused. So glad female groups don't do it as much.
Anyway, let's get to the intro of the members.
The seven member team is led by main rappers Zico and Kyung, “Birth of a Great Star” contestant and main vocalist Taeil, sub-rapper P.O., and sub-vocals Jae Hyo, U-Kwon, and B-Bomb.
Using the MV to introduce you to the boys
here's their appearences
l-r: Kyung/B-Bomb/ Taeil/ Zico (leader)/Jaehyo/U-Kwon/P.O (maknae)
My first taste of these guys were from the Wanna B MV which wont be fully revealed until May
here's a teaser
And Zico reminds me of SO MUCH of Jun Hyung from Beast
And when i watched the Freeze MV that's the general feeling i got for most of the group
I felt like they could've been part of another group and fit in find or they resemble someone from another group
So i got
Zico resembling Beast's Jun Hyung
JaeHyo could pass for someone from Super Junior
P.O i swear sounds exactly like TOP so yeah
So continue on!
From what i read of these obstacles and struggles everyone but Taeil who lost in “Birth of a Great Star” was the only one to be accepted on the get go on the line of Block B. Everyone else failed and tried again. What does this say about Cho PD? he's harsh and then see improvements and accepts them?
Fail as in JaeHyo was a trainee for Beast
Strangely enough the person i have slightly negative feelings for, Kyung, was the overqualified for this group.
Why I dont like him?
He's an uglier/younger ver. of Edmund Leung
and
The Live Performance.
The MV everyone was pretty good, charismatic and enthuastic, Kyung included.
But the LIVE performance. gosh.
Check it out here.
I think they relied on way too much background vocals and autotune
In the mv it wasnt AS noticeable cause i HEARD their voice when they sang
But in the LIVE it was hardly cutting through. Kyung's parts were annoying actually haha, the mari mari (sorry i cant do romanized)
1:10 ~ that line or even his 'singing' voice is such a sore thumb compare to the rest of the groups
ok. i must applaud Taeil's vocals, they are awesome. But the problem is that it seems like he's the only one that can sing in this group.
JUST FROM Freeze
-----
I kinda wish they went with Wanna B
as it carries over the vocals of rapper so much more and they would've benefit from that by setting themselves up as a groups thats like this
Freeze is such a generic song and i cant hear Kyung's annoying voice in Wanna B = nice ! he's rapping !
i like this vid of showing TOP and Jun Hyung 59 sec of Wanna B ~
I look forward to Wanna B's mv in may

That's it!
Sorry for jumping around in my critique
gotta think of a better format
Signing OUT!
